I got a call from this number, they left a message, "This is Dunn and Bradstreet, we're calling for anyone from the management to create a business information report for [company name], please call us immediately at 1800-872-4349 and reference case number 02496954". The caller ID is from Whippany, NJ. I believe they retrieved this information from public business records as I recently got a business license.

I have no business with this company, and am for certain they are only phishing for my personal information by posing as some type of professional company. When I called back the 973-929-3290, the recording said "If you are returning our call, we did contact you in attempt to update our records. You don't need to do anything at this time, we will call you back later to collect the data. Thanks for calling D and B".

I called the 800 number, I was connected to a representative. I asked what business is their company in? He said they collect business information, for other companies who are looking into businesses. "For example, if a bank or insurance company would like to know about your company they may contact us and ask for your profile information from our records". He then tried to persuade me to give my name, I told him no I would not be giving my name. I said I want to be removed from your call list, once I gave him the number, he tried to confirm if I was associated with [company name], I told him I will not be providing or confirming any information only asking them to remove my number from their system.
