we got a recorded msg with 877-215-2648. The msg stated that these people were with the ATT Universalcard early scam dept. & that we wanted to ring 'em by a certain time. when we reached a recorded attendant, We are to press: 996742. we didn't.

we had a ring with that no. about our visa card. we checked through our bank. this turns out their credit cards are handled by citibank. our bank provided us the citibank main no. & these people verified it is a valid no. for their scam early warning prevention system.

we had a ring with that no. The recorded voice stated this is with Citi Bank. soon as we rang this these people requested for our cc no. we put the phone down & rang Citi Bank no. on the back of the card. these people stated there were no unusual charges.

This no. was legit, however when you ring the no. on the card, these people have the record those ppl were asking at, & do not seem to mind that you rang 'em directly instead of the no. on the msg. we guess we do not use our card really often, & soon as we cleared $500 in a couple of days, these people flagged our card. we just got to ring 'em to approve the charges.

we had a call, these people stated these people were citicard & that there got been 'high-risk activity' on our card. we purchased numerous plane tickets in europe (I live in the USA) therefore we figured this is legitimate. soon as we rang back, these people only requested for our zip code to confirm. This is surely a valid no. we rang back. checked online, & our online banking went with having a warning of 'high-risk activity' to being cleared soon after the telephone ring.

we got a ring with CiTibank AAdvatage scam Alert department this is a automated ring with a code. we rang and these people was aware of every transcation we made that day. Spoke to customer support and these people stated these people got a record of that ring to us.

we had a ring with a 1-866 number proclaiming this is citicard phoning for scam protection & requested us to ring back within twenty-four hours on 1-877 number. these people got the last four digits of our card. we had suspicious & rang the cust service number on the back of our card & these people informed us this is a legit ring. verified our transactions & provided us a all clear. we will monitor for a few weeks & ensure everything was ok.

Turned out to be a issue with their records. i have had through identity theft before & the agent handled this just the right way. we think it is legitimate.

this was a actual scam department; we got the identical number come up, & we did not trust this, therefore we rang the number on the back of our card, & these people confirmed that these people believed we got scam & that these people got the scam dept ring us. .

Correct this was valid ring. Citibank does a greatjob of flagging suspicious on line orders. these people caught this, therefore now these people will send us new cards. GREAT WORK!!!!!

never ever never ever never ever give ur credit card no. in this way!!! Protect yourself. Take a minute, look on the "Citi" site & ring that no. & ask about charges. Give 'em the information. Smells fishy, do not trust strangers on the telephone OR web stating it is okay to give ur CC# to somebody you do not recognise at a unverified no. . inquire about the 877-215-2648 no. you were given. when this winds up being a fraud, you can help prevent others with being scammed.

Yes, we did ring the no. on the back of our cc & NOT the 877-215-2648 no. these people verified the no. as valid & proceeded to handle the scam early warning issue. You do not want to ring the scam dept.. just go ahead & ring customer service. we suspected we was aware of the charge these people would question & We are right. this is a valid charge that these people got all the infothey wanted to confirm within their own system. Just a less than smart scam algorithm.

we concur, this was a legit no. No tricks. we did have a security block on our card (no fraud, just a mixup). however instead of phoning the recorded system, we rang the main customer support line just to be sure that all the comments above are not part of some elaborate con. it is often safest to ring the main telephone no., even when you may must wait on hold a bit.

valid ring with CitiBank. There is bogus activity on our account. just like most folks, we rang the normal customer support no. listed on the back of our card. That automatically directed us to the scam Early-Warning Detection Department. we do not grasp why these people ask you to ring a no. that was not on the card, however we appreciate the early warning.

The call/voicemail was legitimate. . we got a interesting charge placed however this is legitimate. . when you dont feel comfortable with phoning that 877 no. cos we did not, you should ring the main customer support no. on the back of the card & speak to a live customer support rep. . wish that helps & please dont just ignore the warning. these people will quit the transaction & all future transactions when you dont ring to clear up the scam warning. Nice feature to have when you ask us. .

That no. was good. this was Citi. do not you hate dealing with a recorded machine that can not ID. itself or be confirmed as the proper authority to help you (for real) . IMO. Whenever you get a ring or msg with XYZ cc firm proclaiming bleh blah blah. Just ring the no. on the back of ur card & talked to a real person. That no. should have some life people at the other end. we chose to do that. :) Good luck

Yes, this is a valid ring with Citibank. . we did not ring the 877- no. however instead the one on the back of our our card. somebody got run up numerous hundred dollars of bogus charges on our account in the last few days, & the scam Detection Alert caught this. Good catch on Citi's part.

Yup, mine is a online order for textbooks that triggered the scam alert. this have to be a common kinda fraud. . we rang the no. these people ended up leaving on the VM & is able to handle the entire transaction without giving 'em a single thing other than our ZIP code & verifying the last 3 transactions.

This was normal. soon as you ring a no. & enter a private code msg, this receives a msg looking 'em to check all the recent purchases. she doesnt ask for ur card no., social security no. or a single thing else.

we just got this situation. Citi handles a lot of the cards with other banks. our card was really through Key Bank, however Citi was the major backer behind this. This was a valid ring. our situation is that the Pizza Hut we just ate at is billing out of Kentucky instead of Virginia, where we ate. The charge is legit, though, & Citi early flagged this. these people have a great staff.

Yes- it is legitimate. Citibank ended up leaving a vm looking us to ring the no. i am not comfortable with phoning no.s ended up leaving on our VM, therefore we used the no. on the back of our card. We are instantly transferred to the scam department. somebody got used our card no. to purchase more than $30 worth of stuff. i am happy Citi caught this, however this was the 2nd time it is happened with this particular card. I will be cancelling this anyway.
